Two arrested for driving under influence

Police in Paphos have arrested two men for driving under the influence of drugs in two separate cases, it was announced on Monday.

According to the Police, members of the traffic department were conducting a patrol at 1 am, in Paphos when they stopped a car driven by a 34-year-old man. A narcotest performed at the scene was positive so the man, was taken to the station for further testing, the force said.

Additionally, police officers stopped a vehicle driven by a 38-year-old permanent resident of Paphos at 2 am. In a preliminary examination for drugs, the indication was positive, he then gave a sample that has been sent for further testing at the state laboratory.

The traffic department in collaboration with the Paphos drug squad are investigating the two cases.
