Five day remand for illegal possession of property

Paphos District Court has remanded a 52-year-old man in custody for five days as police investigate a case of illegal possession of property.

The man was arrested late on Tuesday in Paphos on suspicion of stealing electronic devices. He was remanded in custody on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, police searched a house in Kato Paphos around 5.30pm on Tuesday.

Seven televisions, one laptop and one smart notebook were found and confiscated.

The resident of the house was taken to Paphos CID where, according to the police, he failed to provide sufficient explanations as to the items.

The man, who is a permanent resident of the district, was arrested for illegal possession of property.
