Coronavirus: 20 people, four establishments booked

Police fined 20 individuals and four establishments for violating the protective measures in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

In the 24 hours ending at 6am on Friday, officers carried out a total of 2,771 checks across the island.

In the Nicosia district, police carried out 1,072 checks reporting two individuals and three establishment managers, in Limassol 276 checks were carried out and five individuals were fined.

Three individuals and one shop owner were fined in Larnaca following 440 checks, in Paphos three individuals were fined after 134 checks, while in Famagusta 515 checks were carried out reporting seven individuals.

No violations were reported in Morphou after 77 checks nor by traffic, marine and port police after 154 and 103 checks respectively.
