Man arrested for drugs wanted for other cases

A 35-year-old man who was arrested for drug possession in the early morning hours on Monday is suspected of being involved in several theft cases in Limassol and Larnaca according to police.

The man was spotted entering a car with another person in a specific area in Limassol by patrolling officers who signalled them to stop.

But police said the driver of the car instead increased speed to escape, although they caught up with the vehicle.

The 35-year-old passenger of the car was arrested after officers found 3.5 grammes of cannabis and about one gramme of methamphetamine in his possession.

Further examinations revealed the man had four arrest warrants pending against him from various police stations in Limassol and Larnaca related to theft cases.
