Partying with nostalgia

It’s not just one party that is coming to Nicosia this month but two! It has certainly been a while since we have been able to write those words and report on such fun and groove-infused events and, fingers crossed, it looks like now the time has finally come. The well-known and always-entertaining Nostalgia Parties are back with two events this December.

Coming up first and very shortly is a Greek-inspired Nostalgia party on Saturday at Antonakis Bar. This is a rare type of event for these guys and their followers yet its previous editions proved to be just as carefree as their other parties with world and English-language music. Saturday’s event has been in the works for a while now, postponed due to the pandemic and though measures are still in place and health protocols will be followed, the party will go on.

Held at the iconic venue of Antonakis Bar, situated in the old town and now only accepting fully vaccinated guests and those who have had Covid within the last six months, the party will be all about beloved old-time Greek songs.

With DJs MisirLus on the decks comprised of DJ WonderLu and DJ OrangeLu, the evening will be a blast from the past playing Greek songs from the 50s to the 90s, disco, rock n roll, pop and dance hits. The party starts at 8.30pm but make sure you reserve a table as no tickets will be sold without a table reservation.

Two weeks later and another Nostalgia Party will take place but in a totally different mood. Titled Versus Nostalgia Re-connect, December 26’s event invites audiences to get together for a musical journey from the golden days of Nicosia’s legendary and beloved Club (<.Vs.) Versus. Held at DownTown Live from 6pm to 11.30pm, a resident DJ of Versus Club from 1998 to 2010, Manic Mike will play dance classics from the 90s and 00s that the club used to blast.

Versus Nostalgia Re-connect
