A 23-year-old was remanded for five days on Saturday over possession of explosives and stolen goods and the theft of a motorcycle, Limassol police said.

According to the police report, around 5.15pm on Friday, police were alerted to two motorcycles without licence plates driving in a Limassol area.

One of the two drivers ran away, but the second was arrested and taken to a police station for identification as he had no documents on him.

The 23-year-old and the two motorcycles were taken to Limassol CID, where it was determined that one of the two motorcycles had been reported as stolen on March 6. Police are still working on finding the owner of the second one.

A further check turned up a gold watch and three full cartridges on the man’s person, which led to his arrest.

The 23-year-old was handed a five-day remand by Limassol district court on Saturday.

Police are seeking the second suspect.
