Car arson at private parking place in Paphos

A car was arsoned in a private car park in Geroskipou on Monday morning, head of Paphos CID Michalis Nicolaou said.

The fire broke out at 2am on Evagoras Pallikarides Street in Geroskipou, where the car park is located.

Members of the fire department went to the scene and extinguished the fire, which was limited to the entrance of the plot.

Police investigations established the garage belongs to a 38-year-old businessman.

Police collected various items from the scene to help locate the perpetrators of the crime in addition to watching CCTV footage.

According to Nicolaou, the damage caused to the garage is estimated to be €1,500.
