There is no shortage of foreign cinema on the island these days but presenting Indian films is quite rare. This April though, cinephiles will have the opportunity to not only enjoy an Indian film but also a film that was only released in March 2022. Have your calendars at the ready as it is only coming for one showing!

The 1.30pm screening of The Kashmir Files at K-Cineplex Nicosia Prime this Sunday is thanks to a collaboration of The High Commission of India and Sanskriti Cyprus. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, The Kashmir Files, the highest voted Indian Film on IMDB, is a heart-breaking narrative of the pain, suffering, struggle and trauma of Kashmiri Pandits, seen through the eyes of Krishna, the protagonist.

The film is based on video interviews of the first-generation victims of the Genocide of Kashmiri Pandit Community In 1990 and questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics and humanity.
