terra cyp

Terra Cypria, the Cyprus Conservation Foundation, is organising an event titled ‘Natura 2000: Awareness and Information for Paphos’ Public’ at En Plo hall in Castle square, Paphos.

The event entails a walk in the Lighthouse area of Kato Paphos, part of Natura 2000 network, with mayor Phedonas Phedonos, during which people will be informed on the importance of the area and a presentation of the ‘Pandoteira’ project.

Pandoteira is a project aimed at improving the conservation status of species and habitats important to Europe and making the Natura 2000 network more efficient, functional, and sustainable. Actions that are recommended in the project are to be implemented on a national scale, as well as more targeted actions in 35 Natura sites.

The project has been running for the past 10 years and is funded by the European funding mechanism ‘Life’ and overseen by the environment department.

The event will take place on Saturday April 30, 2022, between 17:00-19:00.
