Man held for drug possession

A 39-year-old man was arrested in Paphos for possession of drugs.

According to Paphos police spokesman Michalis Nicolaou, officers patrolling a street in town on Monday night stopped the man’s vehicle for a routine search and found him in possession of an unknown quantity of methamphetamine.

The man was immediately arrested, and the case was handed to the anti-narcotics squad.

Nicolaou added that in the last 24 hours, a total of 44 fines were handed out to motorists in Paphos. Moreover, two people were found to be driving while intoxicated and two under the influence of drugs.
