Three arrested for drug possession

Police on Saturday said they had arrested three people for alleged drug possession and suspected intent to distribute.

On Friday afternoon, members of the drug force (Ykan) intercepted a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old man. Also on board were two other men, aged 20 and 21.

After the car was checked, police found 44 grammes of a white powder, believed to be cocaine, 65 grammes of marijuana, 23 grammes of hemp resin, 5 grammes of crystal meth, a precision scale, as well as €5,910 in cash.

Moreover, an additional 24 grammes of marijuana were found on the person of the driver, along with 3 grammes of crystal meth, a white powder believed to be cocaine weighing 2.5 grammes, as well as €280 in cash.

The two 21-year-olds were arrested at the scene. The 20-year-old passenger was arrested later after a warrant was issued.
