Music and poetry at Prozak

antecho

For cool, calm evenings in the city, quirky little café-bar Prozak is a great place to be. Popular with locals and visitors alike, the bar is renowned for its Brandy Sours with a kick and its seasonal events. Among open mic nights, stand-ups and pop-up exhibitions, two more events are coming to Prozak this June with a Cypriot focus!

On Thursday, a musical narration titled Ant//Echo will take place as Giorgos Papaconstantinou will recite pieces in the Greek-Cypriot dialect from his book Diigimata-Xalasmata. Joining him on the Prozak floor will be Giorgos Mina who will add the musical dimension to the event by playing rav vast drum while Papaconstantinou reads.

A few days later, on June 22, the Nicosia launch of Larnaca: The Anthology will take place at Prozak. In an evening of poetry, stories and celebration, the editors of the book, James Mackay and Zoe Piponides, will introduce the Anthology to Nicosia residents. The book is a collection of poetry and short stories written by more than 50 contributors, in a unique multilingual blend that features Greek, English, and other languages. The book was released in 2021 and is a collection of stories, poems and experiences of living in Larnaca, from the ordinary to the touristy and the natural beauty of the region. A whole year after its publication, Larnaca: The Anthology is coming to Nicosia for a first introduction.
