In a powerful display of excellence, Alphamega Hypermarkets received a total of eight accolades at the combined awards ceremony of the Cyprus Retail Awards 2021, the Cyprus HR Awards 2021 and the Cyprus Responsible Business Awards 2021, held recently by Boussias Cyprus.

The awards recognise best practices in the retail industry, business excellence, ingenuity and adaptability, as well as human resource management.

The Company won three Gold awards in the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility and ‘Technology & Digital Applications’ categories, two Silver awards in the ‘Strategic Development’ and ‘Covid-19 HR Response Actions’ categories, as well as two Bronze awards for ‘Strategic Development and ‘Marketing, Promotion & Communication Activities’.

Moreover, Alphamega also received an honorary distinction for its social contribution, following its €600,000 donation to communities impacted by wildfires that broke out in the Larnaca and Limassol mountain-range in July 2021.

Overall, the awards recognised crucial aspects of Alphamega Hypermarkets’ business operations, such as its multifaceted Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, the chain’s e-shop and digital services, as well as its human resource management policy during the pandemic.

Winners were selected by a multi-member judging committee comprised of retail industry stakeholders, experienced and prominent market figures, academics and experts.

“Amid a difficult period, due to the pandemic, Alphamega Hypermarkets adapted swiftly and showed great resilience to the challenges that businesses were suddenly called to overcome,” stated Alphamega Hypermarkets’ Chief Communications and CSR Officer Natasa Constantinidou.

“Just over two years on, we have managed, not just to emerge from the Covid-19 crisis unscathed, but also increase our turnover, by investing in technology, the digital transformation of our services and the quality of our people.

“These new important accolades are yet further recognition of our efforts, while they encourage us to work even harder to ensure our services are constantly evolving and improving, with the ultimate goal of providing modern and high-quality services to each and every consumer.”
