The Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) on Monday released a public statement congratulating Irene Mylona-Chrysostomou for her recent appointment as the new Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property.

“Mrs. Mylona-Chrysostomou is a qualified technocrat with many years of experience in the Department of the Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property and we are sure that she will further contribute to the modernisation and simplification of the department’s work,” the association said.

“We look forward to a cordial and close cooperation and wish Mrs. Mylona-Chrysostomou every success in her new duties,” the statement added.

Employees, retirees and the self-employed don’t have a lot of time left at their disposal to submit their tax returns for 2021, as the deadline ends on July 31, 2022.

One way people can submit their tax returns is through TaxApp.cy, an online tax solution, which facilitates submission by allowing the user to follow simple instructions in the form of short questions.

The application also has the submitted form checked by professional tax advisors before it is submitted, on behalf of the user, to TAXISnet, in order to ensure that it is correct.

According to a statement, the TaxApp team, after having secured operating approval by the Association of Chartered Accountants of Cyprus (Selk), are in constant communication with the Tax Department.

At the same time, the platform is compatible with the relevant GDPR regulations, ensuring that user data remains secure.

“In the event where the user chooses to prepare and submit the declaration themselves through the platform, the final cost amounts to €19.50 plus VAT,” TaxApp co-founder and CEO Marios Papageorgiou said.

“The process is very straightforward, with users needing their tax ID number, TAXISnet registration, and TaxApp registration,” he added.

“However, in the event where the user decides to have TaxApp take over the entire process, without themselves having any involvement, the cost amounts to €79.50+VAT,” he concluded.
