Suspect sought after he injured two people with a knife

Paphos police are on the hunt for a man who allegedly lightly wounded two people with a knife after they sought to calm an apparent domestic row.

According to Paphos CID police chief and spokesman Michalis Nicolaou, his officers were called to the scene in Geroskipou on Tuesday at around 9.30pm.

They were informed that there was a fight going on at a household where they subsequently found three women, aged 37, 43 and 47, and a man whose details are currently unknown.

Two neighbours sought to intervene and help but later told police the man was brandishing two knives and attacked them.

The two neighbours were lightly injured, and the man fled the area.

Nicolaou said his unit is investigating the incident, centred on identifying the alleged attacker. Evidence from the scene has been collected to undergo further examination.
