President Nicos Anastasiades

President Nicos Anastasiades will return to his duties on Tuesday, following seven days of self-isolation after testing positive for coronavirus earlier this week.

Anastasiades was diagnosed with coronavirus on Tuesday morning during a routine test and has been self-isolating since, following the procedures laid down by medical protocols. First Lady Andri Anastasiades had also tested positive.

He is expected to return to his duties as of Tuesday, according to the president’s schedule published by the director of the press office of the president Andreas Iosif.

On Tuesday, at 9.30am, the president is scheduled to chair a meeting with representatives of the Vasiliko communities.

Anastasiades is also scheduled to chair a cabinet meeting at 9.30am on Thursday, while at 11am that day he will meet with the Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias to discuss, among others, the next steps of the two countries in dealing with Turkey.

Later on Thursday, at 6.45pm, the president will brief the central council of expatriate organisations on the latest developments in the Cyprus problem.

This will be followed by a reception hosted by the president and the First Lady on the occasion of the World Conference of Diaspora Cypriots. During the event, awards will be presented to expatriates for their contribution.
