Rental car blaze in Larnaca (Update)

A rental car in Larnaca was engulfed in flames on Sunday morning, close to Anglisides.

According to the police, the incident happened at 9.30am on the Limassol to Larnaca motorway on the road from Kofinou to Kalo Chorio, before the exit for Anglisides. 

According to the police, the fire broke out in the vehicle’s engine area.

The vehicle is located outside the traffic lanes and traffic on the motorway has not been affected.

Two staffed vehicles from EMAK Kofinou rushed to the scene and extinguished the fire.

The fire caused extensive damage to the front of the vehicle and specifically to the engine area.

Two people were in the vehicle, no injuries were reported.
