Okypy, private split for on-call centres clarified

State health organisation Okypy announced on Friday that from the coming weekend, September 3 and 4, it will staff on-call clinics for the first weekend of each month with pediatricians and personal doctors.

On the remaining weekends, the on-call clinics will be staffed by private sector pediatricians and doctors for adults operating out of their own offices.

The change in the on-call services staffing does not affect their functioning in any way, the announcement said.

The on-call service points across all districts will remain the same and so will the necessary process for being treated. (Relevant documents provision, rapid tests etc)

On-call clinics have been providing their services to the public for the past three months during weekends and holidays.

Okypy actively supports the emergency rooms that have successfully served patients who needed their services, the announcement reads.

The provision of health services in line with the highest quality standards is a basic target and enduring commitment of Okypy, the announcement added.
