The foreign ministry on Tuesday expressed “deep concern” over the escalation of tension between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

In a written statement, the ministry condemned the attack launched by Azerbaijan against positions inside the territory of Armenia, and called on Azerbaijan “to respect the Ceasefire Agreement of November 9, 2020, so that there is an immediate de-escalation of tension.

“The Republic of Cyprus has always supported the peaceful resolution of disputes on the basis of international law”, the statement added.
