Two arrested over drugs

Police arrested two individuals on Friday early hours in connection to a case of possession of burglary tools and drugs.

According to Paphos police spokesman and CID chief Michalis Nicolaou, at around 2.45am police in Peyia stopped a car driven by a 54-year-old with a 41-year-old passenger.

During a search, police found in the 41-year-old’s bag a small quantity of crystals resembling methamphetamine, five fixed blade knifes with a pointed edge along with other burglary tools.

The 41-year-old was arrested over possession of drugs, burglary tools and knife carrying.

The 54-year-old, against whom arrest warrants were pending, was arrested as well. He also tested positive on a drug test.

The two individuals are now in police custody.
