Seven-year-old seriously injured after being hit by a car

A seven-year-old boy was seriously injured in Athienou, Larnaca after being hit by a car while crossing the street, police said on Wednesday.

According to police, the boy was hit at 7.50pm on Tuesday night, while crossing the road in Athienou. The driver of the car that hit him was a 51-year-old woman.

Police and an ambulance were called to the scene, and the boy was rushed to Larnaca General and then to Makarios Hospital in Nicosia for further treatment.

Doctors at the hospital said that the boy’s condition is serious but stable.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
