Today’s weather: Unsettled with showers, strong winds

On Monday the weather will be partly sunny and unsettled with increased clouds expected to bring rain in the west and south and in the highlands from noon onwards. Winds will be north-easterly to south-easterly, moderate to very strong, up to 7 Beaufort at times, gradually turning south-westerly to north-westerly in the afternoon, moderate up to 4 Beaufort, and in the east, strong to very strong, up to 6 Beaufort. The sea will be rough. Temperatures will rise to 30 C in the interior and on the north coast, 28 C on the remaining coasts and 20 C in the higher mountains.

On Thursday night temporarily increased clouds are expected to bring isolated rains in the west and north. Winds will be mainly south-westerly to north-westerly, moderate up to 4 Beaufort and later weak. The sea will be very rough. Temperatures will drop to 16 C in the interior and on the north coast, 17 C on the remaining coasts and 8 C in the higher mountains.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, during the midday and afternoon hours, clouds are expected to bring rains and isolated storms in the mountains and in the northern half of the island. On Thursday, increased clouds are expected to bring rains in the mountains and possibly inland.

Temperatures will drop slightly on Tuesday with no appreciable change on Wednesday, and a slight rise is expected on Thursday reaching close to average for the season.
