Casualty Department: None, no closing times, the hospice is open 24/7

Admission/Discharge/Billing:
Admissions: All patient referrals are passed to Mona Skordi the general manager. Prior to admission, and in order that the patient’s application can be fully assessed, their doctor must complete a document, comprising of two pages, giving full details of the patient’s health
Discharge: Follow-up treatment, medical papers for discharge
Billing: Prepayment, payment methods, upon discharge

Room Rates: The hospice is free of charge relying on donations, legacies, fundraising events, 6 hospice shops and our registered charity and our UK based charity to maintain this vital service

Number of Beds: There are 9 spacious bedrooms in the hospice one of which is designed specifically to offer palliative care to children – we are the only hospice on the island to offer this facility

Our medical team is led by qualified and experienced hospice doctors. All our doctors are providing their expertise free of charge to support the hospice. Doctor Natasa Mala from the Veramedica Medical Centre in Chloraka is the medical director for Archangel Michael Hospice

Visiting Hours: visiting times – the hospice is open 24/7 however the front door is locked from 21.00 each night. Access can be gained after this time by ringing the bell for the nurses

Restaurant/Cafeteria:
We have a cafeteria with dining facilities where patients’ meals – which are donated – are prepared for the patients by the volunteers. Meals are also available for patients’ family and friends for a small donation. There is also a comfortable lounge area, roof garden and terrace.
The Garden of Memories was opened in May this year where patients, their family & friends as well as visitors to the hospice can relax and enjoy this wonderful addition to the hospice

Patient Feedback:
There is a handbook in each patient’s room outlining the history of the hospice and outlining the facilities available included in which is a questionnaire requesting patient feedback.
Archangel Michael hospice offers palliative and respite care to all those in need regardless of nationality, race, religion or the nature of their illness. We treat the person instead of just the disease and focus on the family as a whole and not just the individual. We emphasise the quality of life and not its duration allowing terminally ill patients and their families to experience the end of life together in the comfort and security of a homelike setting welcoming relatives who wish to stay with their loved ones whilst they are here in the Hospice
