Nicosia laboratory Pedieos IVF Centre, which also serves Aphrodite Egg Bank, has been awarded prestigious accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP), recognised as the global gold standard for laboratory quality and precision.

The laboratory is among the first in Cyprus and Europe to earn this honour, awarded only to laboratories that meet the highest standards of accuracy, safety and operational excellence.

This sets a new standard for reproductive medicine in the region, a centre press release says.

It adds that the lab now joins the ranks of more than 8,000 CAP-accredited facilities worldwide.

The accreditation process involves a rigorous evaluation of the lab’s procedures, testing methods, equipment, staff qualifications and overall management, ensuring that all processes adhere to the most up-to-date industry practices.

Lab director Constantinos Pavlides, said the accreditation “reflects our ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation in reproductive medicine.”

“By achieving CAP standards, we ensure that every test and procedure in our lab is carried out with the utmost precision, offering our patients the highest level of care and confidence in their treatment outcomes.”

As part of CAP accreditation, the lab will undergo regular inspections to verify that it continues to meet stringent quality standards in all aspects of laboratory operations. This includes proficiency testing and quality control measures to ensure reliable results for patients.

Managing director Stephanos Trokoudes said that “for our patients, CAP accreditation means they can trust that our lab is among the best in the world, offering accuracy and reliability in diagnostics and treatments.”

“This milestone underscores our dedication to providing top-tier reproductive services to individuals and couples seeking fertility solutions.”

The centre, founded in 1986, provides cutting-edge procedures and the latest advancements in assisted reproductive technology.

The international egg bank, based in Nicosia, with over 40 years of expertise, offers one of the best guarantee programmes available in the field, along with a diverse selection of phenotypes and both open and anonymous donor options.
