Savino Live makes its summer comeback with a series of live music performances this week. Up first at the Larnaca rock music venue is Stonus on Wednesday who return to their homeland for their first gig after “the plague” as they call the coronavirus, playing songs from their acclaimed debut Aphasia and their latest release Séance.
On the last day of June, the band will perform fuzzy rock ‘n’ roll with their signature, raw energy. Formed in 2015 in Nicosia and based in London since 2018, heavy rockers Stonus deliver psychotic performances and high voltage sounds while upholding old school attitude.
Welcoming in July on Thursday will be acclaimed local band The Zilla Project performing their signature blues sounds with special guest from Greece virtuoso electric guitarist Babis Tyropoulos who will perform in Cyprus for the first time.
On the following night, Isla Fortuna finally return to Savino Live to perform their new EP Woodworks Live Session, more new tracks as well as loved ones from their debut album Verity.
Wrapping up the week at Savino Live is a gig by Speak in Whispers on Saturday night. The band was formed in late 2017 in Larnaca by Andreas Spyrou (vocals), Alex Iacovou (drums), Antonis Koumbari (guitars), Deniel Pavlovskiy (bass, vocals) and Andreas Hadjipandelis (guitars, samples). Adopting dark and cryptic atmospheres and forward-thinking sounds within the undertone of heavy music, they aim to convey thought-provoking and emotion-fuelled sets ranging from lust to apathy, rage to serenity and desolation to familiarity.
