Europa Donna’s annual pink silhouettes march that aims to raise awareness on breast cancer will be replaced this year with a torch race to be streamed live in a bid to protect participants and especially people in vulnerable groups from the coronavirus.

The torch race, in which runners and members of the Europa Donna Cyprus board will participate, will take place on October 9.

October has been established as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“This year was difficult due to the pandemic. However, Europa Donna Cyprus has managed to treat breast cancer patients with sensitivity and responsibility,” head of Europa Donna Cyprus Stella Mastora said.

The event is supported by AstroBank.

AstroBank’s chief executive officer, Aristides Vourakis said cooperation with Europa Donna, is one of bank’s most important achievements.

The torch race will start at 5pm from the House of Europa Donna Cyprus in Engomi. There will be a stop in front of the AstroBank building and the race will finish in the moat of Eleftheria Square.

Additionally, by using #europadonnacy2021 on social media, people can post photos of themselves wearing pink scarves.
