Police on Friday warned of a rise in thefts from construction sites and other open spaces.

The thefts involve cables, pipes, and other valuable materials.

The public is advised to take cautionary measures such as keeping an inventory of their property and have CCTV cameras, fencing works and adequate lighting in place apart from safely securing their property.

People are encouraged to report suspicious activities on 1460 or 112/199.
