Police are investigating a case of burglary and theft in Limassol with stolen goods worth up to at least €70,000.
The owner’s son told the police on Wednesday that the burglary took place at the Limassol residence of his parents between 10 and 14 of June, when they were abroad.
The police searched the residence and determined that the suspect climbed up on the roof of the building and then climbed down into the apartments balcony where the door was tampered with by a sharp object.
A safe containing valuable goods was also broken into and its contents stolen.
According to the owner’s son, the stolen goods include €50,000 in cash, gold coins worth €20,000 and several jewels of high value.
The crime scene has been locked down and police are investigating further.
