A Larnaca firefighter is receiving precautionary treatment in hospital after rocks fell on him while rescuing a dog from a well.

Fire services spokesman Andreas Kettis stated that such open and uncovered wells are dangerous.

He called on the public to report any such cases to the authorities so that the necessary safety measures can be enforced.
