House president Annita Demetriou on Monday signed the book of condolences for China’s former President Jiang Zemin who died last week aged 96.
Visiting the Chinese embassy to sign the book, Demetriou said under Zemin’s leadership the Chinese economy grew powerful and became one of the strongest powers in the world.
She expressed her sincere condolences on behalf of herself and all members of parliament to the political leadership of China.
Zemin died on Wednesday, with state media reporting that he died of leukemia and organ failure in Shanghai.
