An award-winning magical show is coming to the island in January to entertain young audiences. The Underwater Bubble Show is a soap bubble spectacle for children and adults that has been awarded the International Magicians Society’s Merlin Award as the World’s Best Show for the Whole Family for 2019. On January 6 it will take the Nicosia Municipality Theatre stage to present a special afternoon show.

The show is the first soap bubble performance enriched with special effects, from lasers and snow cannons to smoke, optical illusions and video projections. All of that inspired by the popular Cirque Du Soleil to give a unique theatrical dimension to the art of soap bubbles. In addition to its impressive visuals, the bubble show also includes references and quotes from classic fairy tales such as Alice in Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, Peter Pan and Pinocchio yet with a more contemporary approach that blends dramatic art, pantomime, dance, acrobatics and magic.

Of course, the showstoppers are the huge soap bubbles that are bound to be an extraordinary spectacle for any kind of audience. So far, the Underwater Bubble Show has travelled to 32 countries, with major tours in America and China. Its next stop is in Cyprus with a show that starts at 4pm and last 85 minutes.

Adding to the show’s signature and mesmerising visuals is the direction of the Italian Enrico Pezzoli who led the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014. Peccoli is an actor and magician and renowned bubble artist who will present his craft to Nicosia audiences soon.
