One hectare of brushland and 60 large bales of hay were burned by a fire that broke out on Tuesday morning in Aradippou, in Larnaca.

The fire also damaged a property.

According to the forestry department, the blaze broke out around 9.20am, in an area within the bounds of the Aradippou municipality, and was brought under full control two hours later, by around 11.20am.

Fifteen staff from the forestry department with three fire trucks backed up by seven staff and three fire trucks from the fire service extinguished the fire.

The causes of the fire are being investigated.
