The presidential palace will be lit up in purple on Thursday to mark national pancreatic cancer day.
The lighting of the palace will take place at 4.00pm as part of the awareness campaign by Pasykaf in collaboration with World Pancreatic Cancer Coalition (WPCC) to inform people about the symptoms, the dangers, ways to locate the cancer and how to save their lives.
According to the WPCC, pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of global deaths among major cancers, even though is the 12th most common cancer worldwide, as it tends to be diagnosed late.
Not a lot of people are aware of this type of cancer, therefore Pasykaf along with WPCC are trying to raise awareness by promoting this campaign, for people to recognise the symptoms they might have early enough to get diagnosed by their doctors.
