Larnaca police and Aradippou mayor Christodoulos Partou met on Tuesday to discuss preventive measures over increased thefts from homes and cars in the area.
During the meeting, Aradippou residents reported problems faced due to increased delinquency, especially in the Krasa area of the municipality. Partou highlighted that there was a need to restore the institution of the neighbourhood watch that had been reduced since the pandemic.
At the meeting, residents, the municipality and the police discussed the problems and possible measures to combat crime.
“Among the measures discussed for implementation is the increase in patrols by police officers in various areas of Aradippou, especially in the Krasa area. The issue of timely response of the call centre at the Aradippou police station was also discussed,” Partou said.
The mayor added that the Aradippou municipal council’s has plans in various areas, especially parks and squares, to prevent delinquents gathering and causing disruption.
Cooperation with the police was needed to “solve the crime problems that plague not only Aradippou, but the entire Larnaca district and beyond” he said.
