A female diver who went missing at the Zenovia shipwreck in Larnaca was rescused on Saturday in an operation led by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC).

She was eventually located and is in good health.

JRCC said that at “around 13:30 on February 15, the centre received information regarding a missing diver in the sea area of the Zenovia wreck, and specifically a woman who was missing after a dive.”

It immediately mobilised two speedboats of the port and maritime police, a helicopter of the Air Operations Unit of the police headquarters, a patrol from the Larnaca police department and two teams of lifeguards from the Larnaca district administration.

The ferry boat Atlantis also participated in the search.

According to JRCC, “the woman was found in good health, was immediately transferred to shore and was handed to an ambulance of the state health services for precautionary examinations.”
