The transport ministry on Wednesday issued a decree prohibiting drone flights over the territory of the Republic and its territorial waters with immediate effect.

“Due to the current security conditions, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works signed a decree prohibiting the flights of civil unmanned aircraft (drones), for any reason, over the territory and territorial waters of the Republic of Cyprus,” the ministry’s civil aviation department said.

The ministry urged the public to fully comply with the decree, saying it will remain in force until further notice.
