Hermes Airports CEO Eleni Kaloyirou joined business leaders at the 5th ICPAC Mediterranean Finance Summit, held on 21–22 May in Limassol, taking part in a discussion on the growing importance of close cooperation between chief executives and finance chiefs.
The panel, titled ‘The CEO–CFO Partnership: Trust, Transparency & Transformation’, focused on how strategic alignment, trust-based collaboration and a strong understanding of the business can help companies drive transformation, build resilience and support sustainable growth.
According to the announcement, the discussion also examined the evolving role of the chief financial officer, with CFOs increasingly moving beyond traditional financial oversight to become strategic business partners and broader business leaders.
The summit brought together senior CFOs and finance leaders from across the region, at a time when finance functions are being reshaped by artificial intelligence, tighter regulation, higher capital costs and growing pressure from boards for faster, clearer and more accurate decision-making.
In this environment, organisers said, the modern finance leader is no longer seen only as the guardian of cost and compliance, but as a key figure in shaping growth, resilience and trust within an organisation.
Across two days of keynotes, round tables, workshops and networking sessions, the summit focused on issues including intelligent forecasting, cash and liquidity discipline, operational efficiency, tax and regulatory pressure, risk and governance, digital transformation and talent development for the next era of finance.
The event also placed emphasis on practical leadership, with discussions centred on how finance teams can navigate volatility, protect profitability and build functions that contribute directly to strategy at board level.
