A five-month-old infant was found dead in his crib by his mother on Tuesday.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 8pm, when the infant’s mother noticed that it was unresponsive.

The child was then taken to a private hospital in Limassol where it was pronounced dead.

An autopsy is expected to shed further light on the exact circumstances surrounding the death.  

Investigations into the case are ongoing.
