The University of Cyprus Formula racing team secured second place overall at Formula Student Romania with its student-built Odysseia single-seater.

The team was established in 2019 by students from the university’s mechanical and manufacturing engineering department and now has more than 50 members from various disciplines.

Formula Student competitions bring together university students, challenging them to design, build and develop their own single-seater racing cars.

The students put their knowledge and skills into practice through teamwork, working to optimise the car’s mechanical performance while also developing the commercial side of the project.

Designed and built from scratch by the University of Cyprus team, Odysseia secured second place overall following its performance in events including design, acceleration, skidpad, autocross and endurance.

The team also took third place in fuel efficiency, fifth in cost and manufacturing and sixth in the business presentation event.
