Famagusta hospital, the reference hospital for coronavirus cases, is completely full, with 75 patients being treated there on Tuesday.

Of the 75 people, eight are in the high dependency unit as they need close monitoring.

On Monday morning its medical director Amalia Hadjiyianni said the hospital was 99 per cent full, with 74 people being treated for the virus, of which six were in the high dependency unit.

By Monday night 284 people were in hospitals with coronavirus complications islandwide, up from 270 earlier in the day.

A total of 44 patients are in the Covid-19 ward at Larnaca general hospital.

The Eden Rehabilitation Centre in Tersefanou hosts 71 people, who will remain until they have completely recovered.
