Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid expressed his deep concern over Turkey’s ‘provocative actions in Cyprus’, referencing the move to reopen 3.5 per cent of Varosha.

Lapid’s comments were made as Foreign Minister Nicos Christodoulides visited Israel on Monday.

“We share deep concern of the provocative actions of Turkey in Cyprus lately and we are going to discuss the mutual reaction to it,” his Israeli counterpart said.

Turkey and the Turkish Cypriot leadership’s move reopen parts of Varosha drew widespread condemnation.
