Police on Saturday were investigating the circumstances around the death of 54-year-old Pantelis Demetriou, who crashed on the highway in Limassol.

Demetriou was driving from Limassol to Nicosia on Friday, when at around 4:30pm, he crashed with another vehicle.

As a result, Demetriou’s car hit the railings on the highway and he was flung out of his vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Police did not report any injuries for the two men in the other car, aged 37 and 36.

Demetriou is from the Pyrgos area in Limassol and the accident took place between Ayios Tychonas and Parekklisia.

An ambulance took him to the hospital but he was pronounced dead at 6pm.
