Edek’s credentials committee has announced that party members will need to submit written, personal requests to confirm their registration status in the party’s official membership registry if they wish to vote in the leadership election scheduled for June 1.
Applicants must include a copy of their national political identity card. The committee made clear that only requests submitted personally by the individuals concerned, and strictly within the specified timeframe, will be processed.
Third-party submissions or requests not directly related to confirming membership status will be rejected.
The committee explained that the decision followed multiple appeals from local party organisations and individual members, who sought to verify their status in light of the finalisation of the official membership registry. That registry, now under the committee’s control, reflects all valid entries following a completed review of objections.
The committee stated that requests must be made either by email to [email protected] or in person at Edek’s district offices. Submissions will be accepted between May 12 and 14.
