Pupils of the nursery school and primary school in the village of Akrotiri, both of which have been closed for a week in the aftermath of a drone strike on the British Akrotiri air force base, will attend class at a primary school in the Limassol district village of Kolossi, according to reports on Monday.

News website Reporter wrote that the classes will take place at the nursery school and at the second primary school in Kolossi, which is located north of the Akrotiri base area and west of the Limassol suburb of Ypsonas.

It added that the measure was taken “to ensure that the children will not miss any more lessons, given the extension of the evacuation order in the area until this coming Friday”, and that parents of the affected children have been informed.

People who evacuated the village in the aftermath of last week’s drone strike are currently being housed in two hotels in the city of Limassol and at the Saint George monastery, near the village of Erimi.
