“In the 23 years Amdoc has been in Cyprus, we have seen a very positive development regarding local
talent in the field of computer engineering. We have a great experience with local graduates,” says Yiannis

Tinis, CEO of Amdocs Cyprus Centre, the largest high-tech company on the island. “Our employees are the company’s most important asset, and the secret of our success. Amdocs is a truly global company and we are very good at uniting people who want to make a difference in their work.”

Cyprus 4.0

Tinis insists that Amdocs employees drive innovation. “We empower our employees to use practical techniques and be innovative in order to resolve work challenges. We are transparent and engage them in decisions as we want them to be successful and we recognise them for this.”

Amdocs is driving an increasingly connected digital society forward by utilising our innovative, award-winning technology, Tinis points out.

“Amdocs Media connects content owners and video distributors to deliver media to viewers on any screen.

Amdocs Media – a division of Amdocs – provides end-to-end or modular solutions for the rapid deployment of new media services worldwide, across any channel or device type.”

This kind of innovation is possible, because all employees are on the same page.

“We believe that we are one team and that together, we play to win. We are committed to each other and respect our people. We believe in daring to change – we have to, in our industry. And

of course, we strive for excellence, constantly improving our professionalism and always

delivering value to our customers.”

Tinis finds that this approach is behind the company’s expansion. “Amdocs is currently growing to become a centre of excellence and the focus of our business in the EMEA region and beyond. With numerous customers served by the most advanced technologies in the fields of networks and communications, Amdocs offers diverse career experiences, learning and development opportunities, and exposure to a global multicultural work environment.”

But Cyprus needs to do more to integrate better into the Levant and Europe, Tinis says.

“Cyprus lacks an incentives plan to the technology hub and other international businesses. The long-pending technology park will help a lot to attract more technology companies. And Cyprus needs to do more to promote itself as an aspiring technology hub, Tinis adds.

“Definitely the quality of life and climate comes first on the list and should be promoted along with the welcoming and safe environment, the smooth and easy Immigration policies & support and of course the fact that Cyprus as a Member State of the EU is very helpful because it: ( i) significantly reduces various administrative burdens, and (ii) allows access to various EU tax directives which for example makes it easier to manage the working capital requirements of a company/group.”
