Police seize cocaine and crystal meth, three suspects remanded (updated)

Two men and a woman in Nicosia were remanded in police custody for six days on Saturday in connection with possession of 1.5 kilos of cocaine and 625 grammes of crystal meth.

The three were travelling in two cars intercepted by the drug squad on the Nicosia to Kokkinotrimithia motorway at around 8pm on Friday.

Police said the first car was being driven by a 35-year-old Nicosia resident while a 42-year-old man and a woman, 35, from Famagusta, were travelling in the second vehicle.

According to police, officers found a small quantity of methamphetamine in the first car, along with some drug paraphernalia and an amount of cash.

Inside the second car, police said they found 625 grammes of what is believed to be crystal meth and two packages with 1.5 kilos of cocaine.

Officers also found 25 grammes of cannabis and one ecstasy tablet in the 42-year-old’s possession.

All three suspects were arrested.
