Man in serious condition after car crash

Police are investigating the circumstances under which a 74-year-old man was seriously injured in a road accident on Monday.

The accident happened around noon on the road from Orkontas to Kalopanagiotis, where the 74-year-old driver lost control over his car, veered onto the opposite lane and collided with a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old man who was travelling with a 40-year-old co-driver.

The 74-year-old was taken to Nicosia general hospital where he was diagnosed with a head injury.

Doctors said he is in serious condition.
