A dead turtle was found on the beach in the Dasaki area of Oroklini on Sunday afternoon.

It had washed up on the rocks near the shore and was brought from there to the beach by two 15-year-old girls who found it.

A marine biologist who had been called by someone on the beach said the turtle had been dead about three days and had been injured, possibly hit by a jet ski or a boat.

The municipality of Oroklini was expected at the scene to dispose of the turtle.
