Animation and the Illusion of Life workshop open to beginners
Practising art now goes way beyond the mere paintbrushes, clay sculpting and pencil drawings we once knew. Workshops are now filled with laser cutters and the latest software and are part of the future – if not already the present – for creation. Many creatives have learnt to use these technological advances to upscale their work and many more want to learn. The Art Hub Visual Arts Laboratories are putting together a whole week of seminars teaching Animation and the Illusion of Life and 2D hand-drawn Fx.
Starting from Monday, July 12 and until Friday July 16, art students preparing a portfolio, amateur designers and artists who want to enrich their skills can join the programme and get acquainted with the fundamentals of Fx design and the ways they can use it to successfully reflect their imagination.
Addressing the needs of beginners who want to start studying the art of elemental animation, the workshop will explore the workflow of hand-drawn visual effects and also introduce participants to what is considered to be one of the most fun animation practices. The workshop will also include guided fluid animation with the use of straight-ahead animation and a focus on the principle of arcs.
Held every day between 5pm and 8pm at their arts laboratory in Nicosia, the seminar will touch on elemental animation style, ways to display motion and mood and introduce perspective and dynamic drawing as well as visual effects and the importance of framing.
To join, interested artists should register by July 9 by contacting the centre either via email ([email protected] ) or phone (99-011181). Just don’t forget to bring a personal drawing tablet and a laptop (or an iPad) to participate in this workshop.
