Hundreds involved in fight at Pournara camp

Nicosia police were investigating on Thursday after seven people were injured in a brawl involving around 300 migrants at Pournara reception camp overnight.

According to a police spokeswoman, the fight started around 11pm among the migrants.

Police arrived at the scene and intervened to stop the fight which caused some material damage at the centre.

Seven migrants were mildly injured and had to receive first aid at the camp.

Police investigations resumed early in the morning.
